No REAL Experience= You're NOT Qualified To Have An Opinion = No Vote For YOU
Hypothetical is Hypocritical - This concept is better understood in the example of someone having an opinion about 'a game' having NEVER got off of the bench.
As annoying as it is in sports bars and in the stands... listening to someone 'coaching' from the sidelines....
It CANNOT compare to a loud and persistent voice trying to gain influence or control in a direct personal or professional relationship.
For YEARS...
Well, decades to be exact, I have sat in boardrooms, courtrooms even; witnessing unqualified and uniformed people weighing in on topics they have ZERO experience in.
Experience: practical contact with and observation of facts or events.
The definition itself is what creates the misleading foundation.
OBSERVATION of facts or events.
Below are THREE examples of why a hypothetical opinion shared is NOT only irresponsible, but terribly damaging:
Hypothetical Scenarios vs. Real Experience: When someone engages in hypothetical discussions or scenarios without having real-world experience or practical application, they may come across as hypocritical if they make judgments or statements that they themselves have never encountered or tested.
Inconsistency in Standards: Being an observer who only deals with hypothetical situations can lead to inconsistency in standards. They may hold others to standards they themselves have never had to meet or understand fully, which can be seen as hypocritical.
Dissconnect from Reality: Engaging solely in hypothetical discussions without real-world experience can create a disconnect from reality. It may lead to a lack of empathy or understanding of the complexities involved in practical situations.
I don't know WHO needs to hear this today... be it relative to a professional OR personal situation...
If you don't have REAL EXPERIENCE & APPLICATION in a subject matter. Keep your opinions, judgements & recommendations to yourself.
You are NOT a subject matter expert with NO real experience & application.
Hell... I'm not even asking for mastery... at least have evidence of proficiency before sharing your 'opinion'.
Be mindful of your limitations & acknowledge when you lack direct experience in a particular subject matter.
If this is you... I pray you are not acting with malicious intent and are simply trying to 'fit in' or 'add value'.
I ASSURE YOU ~ You are doing the exact opposite.
By entering unsubstantiated opinions into a logical framework for consideration....
You are wasting time and muddying the waters of facts & evidence.
Or WORSE... exhausting, confusing, and challenging the other party whose shoes you have NEVER walked in.
Pro Tip ~ Never take advice from someone who has NOT done what you're trying to do!
I've been guilty of sitting by patiently and respectfully due to hierarchy/control; listening to unqualified opinions of others ~ witnessing them further their ignorant & unvetted agendas.
I've watched businesses and lives torn apart because of a loud unqualified 'challenger' spewing FICTION; gaining influence and control.
A new standard needs to be adopted.
No REAL Experience= You're NOT Qualified To Have An Opinion = No Vote For YOU
